I have moved all my posts from my Ebay blog. There are times I want to talk about things that may not resonate well on that enviroment, wether it is political or personal in nature.

Happy Mother's Day from Far Away!
So, it is Mother's day and to all the Mother's who have son's and daughters in the military, wether in the states or deployed overseas I wish you a joyful, peaceful day.
I received a Mother's Day call yesterday from Bear in Afghanistan. He sounded so tired and so weary. He has a bum knee now, he tore his NCL. (I had to look that one up) They told him when he comes home he will have surgery and for now they are giving him a great reliever of pain, TYLENOL. I feel like Shirley McClain in Terms of Endearment, where she is running around the nurses station screaming, "Give her the shot! She only had to wait till 10:00, so give her the shot! Now Now Now!!!!!!!"
Bear is an extreme sportskid(I just can't get used to him being a man) Ok, sports-m-a-n. He rides a long board(skate board) all up and down Cali. He even has a sponser and he is good. Of course I set back and bite my nails just watching some of his videos. Have you ever been to a play, movie, the opera where the show was so good a silent awe hung over the audience. Thats how it feels when I watch them in AWE WOW!
So of course I wonder how this will affect him. But knowing Bear he will push through it.
So, to all my sisters in life and online, and all the Mothers who help me through times when I just don't think I can go any further, I thank you and love you. Mother Chops-YOU ROCK! and I love you.

Practicing Medicine
Went to see the Doc today, that will be taking the place of my specialist at KUMC for my Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome. We were put in the outhouse room. The room was littered in outhouses made from wood, metal, toungue depressers, just about anything you could think of. He was a hoot. It is rare to find a doctor these days that have a genuine bedside manner. He did.
Of course it helped that he went to school with my Doc in Kansas and that they were buddies. And knowing Doc Kansas they were not quire boys either. The both have a sick sense of humor.
The Doc here has a deep voice and is very engaging and has a rumbling laugh that just makes you feel like you are at home and puts a smile on your face. I felt comfy telling him how my boobs went from, "where are they?" to "OMG what happened?" It is the fault of one of the meds I take and if I was a Doc I would be a millionaire. I went from a AA to a DD in 6 months. I am now in my 3rd year of taking this medication and my boobs are staying strong. Hubby loves them and so do I. But my back does not.
But I disgress, the Doc in Kansas was from Australia and a very gruff man when first meeting him. He is a perfectionist. If he can't find a diagnosis he keeps looking. Mine came in the form of a printed copy of the symptoms off the CVS website. I took this info to him and we discussed it and took a few more test and I was his first patient diagnosed with CVS. I think he owe's me some money! Just Kidding! This man gave me back my life. My grave was dug and I was jumping in and he caught me. He is a smart ol' cuss.
Doc Kansas, my husband, and I became good friends. We had a rivalry going between Oklahoma State University and University of Kansas. BTW Doc if you happen to come across this you owe the Rev a dollar and you had better wore that OSU shirt I bought for you, that you are supposed to wear if you lose! Go Pokes!
Unfortunately, Doc Kansas is going to help other people with other diseases in a different part of the country so we had to see a new doctor. Who at least is in town.
So, all in all, it was a pretty good day! The Rev got to go with me and that was a real treat seeing how I get to see him about 3 hours a day, these days. More on that in another blog.

PS if someone could tell me if we can put pictures on our blogs and how I would be so grateful.

Spring Cleaning Wha?
Ok, we live in a 3000square foot house all one level. We have our office carpeted a rug under our pool table and dining room table. Other than that it is tiled or cement stained.
We also have 2 furbabies, Miss Kitty and Shreevie. And I swear if I could sell all the fur they drop I would be a millionaire. Sometimes when I'm sweeping these big black fur things come out from under the beds, couches, those things, just seem to lurk, watching and waiting to come out and grab you by the leg and pull you under and suck the life out of you. And I clean my floors every week.(Well sometimes every other week under the bed and furniture.)
So saying all this I was leading in to this. When I met my husband I realized how neat and tidy he was. Everything had a place and it was in it. When we got married it was my turn to take care of the house. OMG! I will just put it in statements for you. My pet peaves.
1) When you guys clean the toilet why do you just throw the cleaner in there, use the scrubber, flush and voila it is clean. UH NOT!
Let me give you a lesson guys, germs are every where. On the outside of the bowl, down the sides behind the bowl, sometimes on the walls surrounding the toilet, and DEFINATELY on the floor around the toilet. Oh, oh, and let me not forget the rim, the toilet seat top and bottom, the lid ,the little place behide the seat and tank, and finally the tank.(Not exactly in this order)
2) When you guys dust could you please remove the chatchi's off and dust the whole piece of the furnture. That way you wont have little dust marks where you couldn't get in between them. And while your at it dust the chatchi's.
3) AND my biggest pet peave of all is don't put the dish you just ate off of in my clean soapy water! Rinse it off or sit it on the counter. That clean soapy water will not be clean any more if you put food ridden dishes in it.
Any way I am doing the spring cleaning this year and I have never seen so many socks stuffed here or there. And I always find them after I have done the white load in the washer. Maybe I'm a little anal but I like to finish every possible piece of the laundry in the house, besides what we are wearing.
During spring cleaning I also do throw rugs, blankets, pillows, comforters outside for a few hours so anything that could have dust mites in them die. I am so allergic to so many things that after winter I have to get it out of the house.
And I know how convenient the Swiffers are but they just push the dirt around like all the rest of the mops. The best to clean floors was the way my Granny taught me. Sweep with a broom, then pull on the rubber gloves, get a bucket add a little ammonia and some soap, get brush or sponge and clean that area until no more dirt showed up. (she had cement finished floors also back in the day)
Ammonia and newspaper was used for the windows. Man it really lets the sunshine in. You may get a little news print on your hands but hey it will wash off. (also use rubber gloves)
On to sinks and tubs. Sinks always got a spray of water and comet scrubbed in and left to for a while. Then scrubbed again and rinsed till there was no sign of any comet left.
The tub was taken care of a little different because who wants to get in and sit on scratchy cleaning products. It got bleach and a green scrubber pad and then rinsed and rinsed. Then it must be dried.
And now that I think of it the toilet was right next to that tub. EEEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUU! I think my lunch is going to come up.
You might have noticed I am a bathroom snob. If we are running around or on a small trip, I carry antibacterial stuff for my hands and a can of lysol to spray on the bottom of my shoes.
I must go now! I have bathrooms to clean and base boards to polish!

Something Missing
The days are long and hard with work that has to be done on a dime and to perfection. No time for thought or sadness.
The nights are fearful, with cool stillness that is more frightening than the sisssssssss boom of the surrounding projectiles. We try to sleep back to back and one at a time. Guarding each other in case of an another attack.
Leaving our lives to fight a war of terror for our homeland people to feel safe and secure. Fighting a war with friends losing thier arms, legs, minds, mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, lives....
I am over here serving my country and hear this from my homeland......There is No More War on Terror...Obama.
I miss you and love you Mom and Dad and Jess! And I am still fighting the WAR on terror no matter what anyone says. The USA is my country and it was attacked, until the people are caught there will still be a war on terror.
Please let my country men and ladies know Mom, I am at the ready and am here for them. I love my country and my fellow Americans.
The Bear
Do I need to tell you I am crying my eyes out right now.
I love you son,
Mom

Friday almost one week!
Tomorrow Bear will be gone for a week. I have no idea in Afghanistan he is but he is there and I found out through Google Earth shows lots of military bases there. I was actually quite surprised.
The crying jags are fewer and farer in between and the acceptance that he is at war is not any easier but tolerable.
It is funny how much you miss a voice that you hear every other night and then nothing, Silence. And now everytime the phone rings we are running to see if it is him. Hell, I would even pay for all the soldiers calls if they would just let them call home.
But I'll bring a little levity in . I miss my son like crazy but I DO NOT MISS HIS FEET! What is it with soldiers feet? Is it the boots they wear? the socks? what? I feel so sorry for his girlfriend when he kicks off his togs. I know I send him straight to the bathroom to wash and dry them and have all the neccessary sprays, ointments, powders, give him the toe nail clippers to clean oup those hoofs, and then top them off with a nice pair of clean socks. Only then can he be pleasant company. It always reminds me of that Toe Jam song back in the 70's. Yuck!
But the rest of him is pleasant enough to be around. And I do really miss him so while I still have a smile on my face I am going to close before I sob.

Today is a Bit Better
The tears are still there just waiting to well up but I am being strong and hoping you can feel it from here. I spoke via Myspace to your girlfriend yesterday. I had not had the pleasure to meet her yet. I will tell you this though, first impressions, she is wonderful. She told me of her tour in Iraq and how her time went and how the lines of defenses were set up between them and us.(ie special warfare, seals, seabees) She is very articulate and sweet and listened to all my fears and acknowledged them without malice and actually comforted me.
She told me how much she loved you and how strong you were. She said you were a "one in a million" soldier and knew your job and would accomplish your tasks and get out and back home before we knew it.
There were so many pictures of you I just browsed and smiled at your sweet face. You still have a smile like a car salesman. It can make you want something even if you had one just like it and didn't need another one.
I am still praying for you and love you so much! And if I can swing it will be there in LA when you come back.
Be strong. Be wise. Be love.
